Thank you letter
"My wife and I were first time home buyers that spent the last 6 years renting in NYC. We finally came to the realization that we should be putting our money to better use, instead of throwing it away on rent. Initially, we had no interest in moving outside the city. Our search began in Manhattan with a real estate agent that did not have our best interst in mind. However, we were stubborn and searched on without her. We went through 2 months of stress and headaches with different realitors when a friend directed us to search in Hoboken. We were not thrilled with the idea, especially since we spent 2 months searching in NYC.
We stumbled upon the Remax web page and were fortunate to find Karina Anillo's listings. I am truly surprised that Karina did not hang up on me after our first discussion. My conversation with her was full of resentment of the hard time my wife and I just spent with other realitors. Karina exercised her patience and listened to everything we had to say. She was extremely understanding of our situation and had a firm understanding of "guest satisfaction". While the real estate industry is not thought of as hospitality driven, there is something to be said for how you treat your clients. Karina took into consideration our financials, interests, goals, and fears of the unknown real estate market.
We moved forward searching for our home. The first day that we looked at properties, Karina took us to 7 sites. After striking out over the past 60 days, we were awfully demanding. Our frustrations were lifted with Karina's sincere respect of our needs. The time held no constraint, because we were made to feel that we were accomplishing something with every property we saw. Karina helped us with every aspect of the buying process with no judgment or criticism of our decisions. Moreover, she did not take a "used car salesmen" approach. Not once did we feel pressured to take her suggestions or directions. Karina supported us by presenting options and listening to those that we brought to the table. She kept in close contact with us even while she was on vacation, always making us feel as though we were her number one priority.
There is so much to be said for someone that takes the time and energy to help those that have worked hard for their money. Karina constantly had our interests in mind as we made decisions. We attacked the home search as a team, and Karina was our coach. Our experience was rewarded with an education of the real estate market and best of all, our new home. Choosing a mortgage broker and a real estate lawyer was no easy task for us, though Karina "held our hands" through the entire process.
We continue to keep in contact with Karina for upcoming events, referrals, and our new ideas. My wife and I would like to boast that we are easy to please when it comes to what we expect spending our money. The truth is, we are picky, stubborn, and opinionated.
